The government will start selling flour at 24 Taka per kg through OMS

From September 1, the government will sell flour at 24 Taka per kilogram under the OMS (Operational Mandatory Stock) program. This flour will be supplied daily to the general public at the upazila level.

The Food Ministry stated this in a press release on Tuesday. The release mentioned, “To keep commodity prices stable and ensure affordable food for low-income groups, food grains are currently being sold in open markets across the country as well.”

Through this initiative, the government hopes to prevent artificial price hikes in food grains and provide flour to the public at affordable prices.
