National University has issued new instructions regarding class attendance and in-course examination marks for Honours 3rd year students of 2025. The university authorities stated that students who fail to meet the required attendance and in-course marks will not be eligible for final exam form fill-up.
In a notice issued on Thursday, it was said that 15% marks have been allocated for in-course examinations and 5% for class attendance. However, it has been made mandatory to obtain at least 3 marks out of 5 in attendance. If a student scores less than this, they will be considered ineligible for exam form fill-up.
The university directive further states that a student must maintain at least 60% class attendance. Additionally, if the average score in two in-course examinations is below 40%, the student will also lose eligibility for form fill-up.
The notice instructs colleges to complete the first and second in-course exams within the specified time and to send the average marks online to the university.
It has also been warned that if in-course marks are not entered online within the deadline, the student’s name will not be included in the possible form fill-up list.
University officials believe these strict rules have been introduced to ensure regular class attendance and increase students’ engagement in academic activities.
