Candidates recommended for the 43rd BCS Non-Cadre have demanded the immediate start of the recruitment process. They alleged that despite a large number of vacancies in various government ministries and offices, the recruitment process has been delayed, leaving unemployed candidates uncertain about their future.

On Monday afternoon, the candidates staged a sit-in in front of the main gate of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) to raise these demands.

The candidates stated that thousands of positions in sectors such as education, health, youth development, and local government remain vacant. They added that the delay in recruitment is hampering administrative operations. While vacancies continue to rise, candidates are being deprived of employment opportunities.

Maruf Hossain, a participant in the sit-in, said, “According to government records, there are currently around 350,000 vacant posts. The lack of recruitment has created a shortage of manpower in critical sectors, yet we remain waiting for our appointments.”

The job seekers presented three demands:

  1. The recruitment process should be initiated immediately with approval from the relevant ministries.

  2. Vacant positions in non-cadre posts, including primary education and youth development, should be filled.

  3. All approved posts under the BCS should include candidates recommended for the 43rd BCS Non-Cadre.

They believe that completing the recruitment process will make government operations more efficient, create new employment opportunities, and end long-standing hardships. Additionally, they expressed hope that this will help reduce unemployment and corruption.
