Siam Ahmed’s New Look in ‘Andhar,’ Detective Delwar Takes on the Mystery

Staff Report: PNN

After films such as Poramon 2, Surongo, Toofan and Tandob, filmmaker Raihan Rafi is now bringing audiences a different kind of story and character with his upcoming film Andhar. Siam Ahmed will be seen playing the role of Detective Delwar in the film. Moving away from the conventional heroic character, Delwar will be seen solving mysteries and fighting against evil forces.

According to Rafi, he does not want the heroes in his films to be created from the same mold. One of his primary goals as a filmmaker is to develop characters with distinctive qualities that fit each individual story. He said Andhar has given him the opportunity to work with a classic heroic character for the first time.

In a post on social media, Raihan Rafi said that Delwar in Andhar is not a conventional revenge-driven hero. His main characteristic is that he stands beside people in times of danger. Rather than fighting evil forces for personal gain, self-interest or revenge, he will fight to protect people who find themselves in trouble.

The director said the character has been presented in the context of Bangladesh as a lone hero who confronts evil forces, similar in certain ways to Sherlock Holmes or Batman.

Rafi also explained why he chose Siam Ahmed for the role of Detective Delwar. According to him, before filming began, he had several actors in mind for the character. However, after completing the production, he can no longer imagine anyone other than Siam playing Delwar.

Praising Siam’s performance, the filmmaker said the actor gave his absolute best to bring the character to life on screen. After the shooting ended, Rafi felt that Siam had become so deeply connected with the character of Delwar that the role seemed as though it had been created specifically for him.

In Andhar, Delwar will not only solve mysteries but will also find himself in various dangerous situations. At the same time, while trying to unravel one mystery, he will uncover new mysteries. As a result, alongside the detective storyline, the film will also raise several questions surrounding its central hero.

Alongside Siam Ahmed, the cast of Andhar includes Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Nazifa Tushi, Gazi Rakayet, Mostofa Monowar, Tanzika Amin, Faruk Ahmed Rehan and Swarnali Chaiti, among others.

According to the production company, preparations are underway to release Andhar in October this year, targeting the Durga Puja holiday period. However, a specific release date has not yet been finalized.

Siam’s appearance in a new kind of role and Raihan Rafi’s different approach to filmmaking have already created interest among audiences. Viewers are now waiting to see how strongly Detective Delwar will make an impact on the big screen.
