After winning the T20 series against Ireland, the Bangladesh cricket team is taking a short break. Currently, the team has no international matches, especially ahead of the upcoming BPL. Before the T20 World Cup starting in February next year, Bangladesh will not play any international matches.

There had been some doubts about Salauddin and Ashraful’s participation in the World Cup. Last month, Salauddin submitted his resignation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board, which was not accepted. Meanwhile, Ashraful was appointed as batting coach for the last Ireland series. These circumstances caused some speculation regarding their presence in the World Cup.

BCB Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Nazmul Abedin Fahim confirmed that both Salauddin and Ashraful will be with the team in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Additionally, all members of the coaching staff will remain unchanged.

On November 4, news came that Salauddin was set to resign from his position as senior assistant coach of Bangladesh, but this resignation is not taking effect, and he will continue his duties. If everything goes as planned, he will continue working with the team under his contract until 2027.

Salauddin first served as Bangladesh team assistant and fielding coach from 2006–2010. Then, from 2010–2011, he was a specialist coach at the BCB National Cricket Academy. Since November 2024, he rejoined as senior assistant coach, marking his second tenure.

This is reassuring news for the Bangladesh cricket team, ensuring that experienced coaches and players will be with the team for the upcoming World Cup.
