PNN International Desk:
Amid rising tensions between Washington and Beijing, Russia has dismissed recent comments made by former U.S. President Donald Trump. A senior Kremlin aide stated, “No one has ever even considered such a conspiracy,” in reference to claims made by Trump.
On Wednesday in Beijing, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Prior to the meeting, both leaders attended a massive military parade organized under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping. Held at Tiananmen Square, the event commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and Japan’s surrender. Thousands of troops and heavy weaponry were showcased, although few Western representatives were present.
After the parade, Putin and Kim joined discussions in the same vehicle. North Korean state media reported that Kim’s daughter, Kim Ju-ae, was also present during the meeting. At the start of the talks, Putin claimed that North Korean fighters had demonstrated bravery alongside Russian forces in the Kursk region near the Ukraine border.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un stated that since the strategic partnership agreement signed in June 2024, Moscow–Pyongyang cooperation has reached “unprecedented levels.” He added, “Whatever needs to be done for Russia, we will accept as a fraternal duty and provide maximum support.”
Earlier, Trump posted sarcastically on his “Truth Social” platform, saying, “Send my warm regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un while you conspire against the United States.” However, the Kremlin clearly stated that there is no basis for such allegations.
