According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, remittances sent by expatriates during the first 17 days of September increased by 23.7 percent, reaching $1,770 million. During the same period last year, the amount was $1,430 million.
From July to September 17 of the current fiscal year, expatriates have sent a total of $6,669 million in remittances, compared to $5,568 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year. This growth plays a significant role in the country’s foreign currency supply and overall economy.
