At Islamic University (IU), an investigation committee has recommended taking action against 61 individuals—19 teachers, 11 officers and staff members, and 31 students—for their alleged involvement in anti-uprising activities.

On Sunday (August 17), the university administration stated that show-cause notices have been issued to the 19 identified teachers, asking why legal action should not be taken against them. They have been given 10 working days to submit written responses.

Acting Registrar Professor Dr. Monjurul Islam said that a five-member investigation committee was formed to identify teachers, officers, and students who played a role against the movement during the July–August uprising. The committee’s report specifically directed show-cause notices to the 19 teachers.

Notably, after reviewing incidents during the anti-discrimination student movement, the investigation committee submitted its report to the Vice-Chancellor on August 13. The report listed a total of 61 individuals.

University sources stated that the authorities will take subsequent administrative and legal measures against the accused.
