This week, a shortage of RAM supply has been observed in Dhaka’s computer market. Sales representatives of multiple companies reported that some popular RAM models are in short supply compared to demand. Although prices remain unchanged, if supply does not normalize quickly, prices may increase in the coming days.
A survey of various computer markets in Dhaka revealed that prices of other components remain stable. Prices of Intel and AMD processors have not changed. For example, the Intel Core i9 14th generation processor is sold for 55,000 BDT, and the Core i7 for 45,500 BDT. AMD Ryzen 9 7900X is 42,000 BDT, and Ryzen 7 7700X is 30,000 BDT.
Motherboards from Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI are also unchanged. For example, Asus Prime Z890 Plus CSM (DDR5) is 37,900 BDT, and Gigabyte B760M Gaming X is 20,000 BDT.
The RAM shortage is most noticeable. Corsair Vengenz LPX 16GB (DDR4) is sold at 12,300 BDT, and G.Skill Trident Z 8GB (DDR4) at 8,600 BDT. DDR5 RAM models like Corsair and Kingston 16–32GB are priced between 23,000–55,000 BDT.
Prices of HDDs and SSDs are stable. Seagate Barracuda 35 2TB is 10,000 BDT, Toshiba X300 4TB is 17,500 BDT, and Corsair MP600 1TB SSD is 15,000 BDT. Monitor prices have not changed significantly. Asus TUF Gaming series 24.5-inch is 24,000 BDT, and LG Ultrafine 27-inch is 46,500 BDT. Graphics card prices are stable, but demand is high for popular models. Logitech, Havit, and Royal Kludge keyboards range from 500–5,700 BDT. Printers and UPS prices remain unchanged.
Sales representatives said that if RAM supply does not normalize, it may affect computer assembly and upgrades. Other components’ prices remain stable, providing a favorable situation for buyers. Prices may fluctuate over time, so buyers are advised to monitor current market prices.
