After a two-week international break, the English Premier League is back in action. This weekend, all eyes will be on new player debuts, a familiar face’s new journey, and one of the most intense recent Manchester derbies.

Players such as Alexander Isak, Alejandro Garnacho, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Nick Voltemades could feature in their new club jerseys for the first time. Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed after finally winning a title with Tottenham Hotspur, will make his debut as Nottingham Forest’s coach this week. A tough start awaits him, as his first match will be against Arsenal.

In Manchester, the heat is on. Both Manchester City and Manchester United have had disappointing season starts, making the Etihad clash between Pep Guardiola and Ruben Amorim a battle for pride.

Additionally, two promising forwards seeking new opportunities after leaving United—Jadon Sancho (Aston Villa) and Garnacho (Chelsea)—could make their first appearances on Saturday. Sancho may play against Everton in Villa’s jersey, while Garnacho could feature for Chelsea against Brentford. This is a key chance for both to regain lost confidence.

Swedish striker Alexander Isak, who joined Liverpool for a record £125 million, could also be seen on the field this week. Although he is likely to start on the bench against Burnley, coach Arne Slot is expected to integrate him into the starting eleven soon. A major question remains: will Salah, Isak, Ekiti, and Wirtz be able to play together?

Overall, the Premier League returns after the international break bringing excitement and hints of new stories.
