Gunfire has been reported at the residence of Arvindar Khosa, the newly elected president of the Canada Cricket Board. However, local police have confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

The attack took place early Wednesday morning at Khosa’s residence in the Newton area of Surrey, Canada. Canadian media reports said that people were inside the house during the shooting, but fortunately no one was injured.

Regarding the incident, Arvindar Khosa said that his house was deliberately targeted. However, he did not provide further details for the sake of the investigation.

Recently, he assumed the presidency of Cricket Canada after replacing Amjad Bajwa through an election held under a court order.

Police said they arrived at the scene at around 4:40 a.m. local time and began investigating. Multiple bullet marks were found on the doors, windows, and exterior walls of the house.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said that initial investigations suggest the incident may be related to extortion. According to police, a person associated with the house had previously received threats from extortionists.

Meanwhile, allegations of organized crime involvement in Canadian cricket have once again come into discussion. Earlier reports had claimed that members of criminal gangs had intimidated several individuals associated with Canadian cricket ahead of the T20 World Cup.
