After returning from 17 years of exile, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman spoke via phone with interim government Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. The call took place on Thursday afternoon at the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
BNP’s verified media page on Facebook announced the conversation at 12:26 PM and shared a short video showing Tarique speaking on the phone while seated on a sofa.
Earlier, Tarique Rahman arrived in Sylhet on a flight from London, UK, at 9:56 AM. He reached Dhaka at 11:39 AM with his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman and daughter Zaima Rahman.
The BNP organized a reception at a 300-feet area in East Dhaka for his return. From the airport, Tarique proceeded directly to the reception. Afterward, he will visit Evercare Hospital in Dhaka to meet with his mother, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment.
