Dhaka: According to recent data from Bangladesh Bank, remittance inflow to the country rose by 7.4% in the first 20 days of August, reaching 1,642 million US dollars.
During the same period last year, remittances stood at 1,530 million dollars. From July to 20 August of the current fiscal year, expatriates have sent 4,120 million dollars to Bangladesh, a significant increase compared to 3,443 million dollars in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Analysts say that the rise in overseas income will strengthen the country’s foreign currency reserves and have a positive impact on the economy.
