Amid the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, US tech company NVIDIA sees new market potential. The company’s founder and CEO Jensen Huang has claimed that NVIDIA’s new CPU “Vera” could create a new market worth approximately 200 billion dollars in the future.

He made the remarks during a discussion with investors after the company released its income and expenditure report. He also stated that NVIDIA has already generated about 20 billion dollars in business from standalone “Vera” CPU sales this year.

NVIDIA is globally known for manufacturing GPUs (Graphics Processing Units). For a long time, the CPU market has been dominated by companies like Intel and AMD. However, NVIDIA is now planning to establish a strong position in the AI-centric CPU market as well.

Jensen Huang said that “Vera” is a CPU specifically designed for agentic AI systems. According to him, in the future, billions of AI agents will perform various tasks, and such systems will require a large number of CPUs.

He explained that while traditional cloud CPUs are designed to handle multiple applications, “Vera” focuses primarily on fast token processing, making it more efficient for AI agent operations.

NVIDIA’s new plan comes at a time when major technology companies such as Amazon and Google are heavily investing in their own AI chip development. In particular, Amazon Web Services recently signed a major agreement with Meta to supply its own AI CPUs.

Technology analysts believe that competition in the AI chip market will intensify in the coming years. However, Jensen Huang is confident that NVIDIA will remain at the center of agentic AI technology.

He added that while there are currently about 1 billion human users globally, in the future there could be several billion AI agents. These agents will require new computing infrastructure, significantly increasing CPU demand.

NVIDIA recently reported revenue of 81.6 billion dollars in its latest quarter and has forecasted 91 billion dollars in the next quarter. Analysts expect continued growth as AI-driven investment in the technology sector increases.
