New Song Released Four Days After Jens Sumon’s Death

Four days after the death of popular singer Jens Sumon, his new song “Keu Janlo Na Keu Bujhlo Na” was released on G-Series’ YouTube channel last Tuesday. Lyrics were written by Faruk Asad, with music composed and arranged by Amit Kor.

G-Series advisor Isha Khan said Sumon had recorded several songs in the months before his death, which will be released gradually. Amit Kor added that Sumon was a close friend, and they had planned more projects together, which remained unfinished.

Sumon’s full name was Galib Ahsan Mehedi. Born in 1979 in Shariatpur and raised in Dhaka, he released his first solo album “Ashirbad” in 1997. He gained nationwide fame in 2002 with the song “Ekta Chador Hobe” on BTV. His last album, “Mon Cholo Ruper Nagore,” was released in 2008. After a 16-year hiatus, he returned in 2024 with the song “Asman Zamin” under G-Series. Sumon passed away from heart disease on November 28 at age 45.
