The National University authority has initiated a major administrative reform to reduce long-standing student difficulties in certificate collection and correction processes. According to the new plan, students will be able to obtain certificates via postal service or regional offices instead of coming to the main campus.

In a Saturday interview, Vice-Chancellor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah said that previously, students had to visit the campus multiple times for a single certificate, wasting both time and money. Now, the process has been digitized, allowing application submission and progress tracking entirely online.

He said students can now apply online, pay the required fee at designated banks, and easily check the status of their certificates. Final certificates are usually prepared within 7 to 10 days.

The vice-chancellor added that provisional certificates are already being sent to the relevant colleges. While final certificates are currently collected from the university’s information service center, plans exist to provide them via regional centers or postal service in the future.

The university is making its current 10 regional centers more effective and plans to establish 10 more centers. These centers will handle certificate distribution as well as various administrative tasks at the local level.

The vice-chancellor said the goal is to deliver services to students’ doorsteps, so they do not have to travel long distances to the Gazipur campus. He further mentioned plans to make the main campus ‘contactless,’ where most services will be completed online or at regional centers.

If implemented, this initiative is expected to allow millions of students to obtain certificate-related services quickly and easily.
