Pakistan’s left-arm former pacer Mohammad Amir has made it clear that he has no plans to return to the national cricket team. Following recent rumors in cricket circles suggesting a comeback, Amir released a video message announcing that his decision is final.
Amir said, “Over the past few days, I’ve been hearing that I am returning to cricket. I have not had any discussions about this, and there are no such plans. My decision is final.” He added, “My fans may want me to return, but Pakistan cricket must move forward. Young players need to be strengthened so that they can win trophies.”
Mohammad Amir had announced his retirement from international cricket for the second time on December 14, 2024. Earlier, he had retired in December 2020, but participated in the T20 World Cup in early 2024.
He emphasized the importance of providing opportunities to young cricketers and expressed his desire to see former players involved with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
