Lisa Gazi’s Film ‘Bari’r Naam Shahana’ Nominated for Oscars

Lisa Gazi’s film Bari’r Naam Shahana will represent Bangladesh at the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars). The Oscar Bangladesh Committee has nominated the film in the Best International Feature Film category.

Set in the 1990s, the movie portrays the survival story of Dipar. Anan Siddique plays the role of Dipar in this film, which is based on real events. The film is jointly produced by Kamala Collective and Goopi Bagha Productions Limited.

Meanwhile, social media criticism has emerged over the non-selection of the film Saba. However, actress Mehjabin Chowdhury stated, “Bari’r Naam Shahana will represent our country. I accept the decision and wish the team all the best.”
