The illness of legendary Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan earlier this year placed his family in deep uncertainty. Revisiting that difficult phase, his son Sohail Khan, actor, director, and producer, became emotional while sharing his experience. He revealed that the fear of losing his father mentally broke him.
Speaking on a reality show, Sohail said Salim Khan was admitted to a Mumbai hospital after suffering a minor brain hemorrhage. During treatment, he remained in a semi-comatose state for some time, creating severe distress for the entire family.
Sohail described those hospital days as one of the most difficult periods of his life. Doctors informed the family that the situation was critical and they should be prepared for any outcome. The fear of losing his father deeply affected him emotionally.
He said that his parents are the most valuable people in his life, and imagining life without them made him feel helpless. After this experience, he has developed a deeper appreciation for family relationships.
Sohail also shared that despite his busy work schedule, he now tries to spend as much time as possible with his parents. He believes the most valuable gift one can give loved ones is time. He emphasized that while there is always time to spend with children in the future, time with aging parents is irreplaceable.
On the same show, he also spoke about joining reality television. He admitted he had stayed away from such shows for a long time, as he had seen the pressure involved while watching his brother Salman Khan host major reality programs. However, the strategic format of the new show encouraged him to participate.
Although known as an actor, Sohail Khan has also built his career as a director and producer in Bollywood. Since his directorial debut in the late 1990s, he has worked on several popular films and earned audience appreciation for his acting as well.
Meanwhile, the family has confirmed that Salim Khan’s health has improved significantly after treatment. He is currently resting at home and recovering gradually.
