PNN News Desk | Dhaka:
The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) have decided to close the university for one day tomorrow, Sunday, September 14. On this day, all classes and administrative activities will remain suspended. However, pre-scheduled admission activities will continue as planned.
This information was announced in a notice signed by the university’s registrar, A.B.M. Azizur Rahman, on Saturday, September 13. The notice also stated that from Monday, September 15, all offices and classes will resume their normal schedule. However, all previously scheduled final exams are temporarily postponed.
According to university sources, the closure decision was taken due to the four-day-long activities related to the central student council (JUCSU) and hall council elections, including voting and subsequent vote counting.
Meanwhile, the admission process for the first-year undergraduate (honours) classes for the 2024-25 academic session will proceed as scheduled on Sunday. Relevant departments will remain open, and teachers, officials, and staff involved in the admission process have been instructed to be present at their offices.
