Islamic Bank Bangladesh’s verified Facebook page falls victim to hackers

The official verified Facebook page of one of the country’s top private financial institutions, Islamic Bank Bangladesh Limited, has been hacked.

The incident was confirmed by the hacker group through a post on the bank’s own Facebook page at 5:42 a.m. on Friday, October 3.

Observing the page, it appears that while the page name was not changed, the profile and cover photos were replaced with images of the hacker group.

Following the hack, the group posted a message stating, “This page has been hacked by MS 470X.” Since then, several additional posts have been made from the page. Bank authorities are reportedly making urgent efforts to regain control of the account.
