Iran has submitted a new peace proposal to the United States aimed at easing ongoing tensions. According to Iranian state media, the proposal includes several conditions such as ending hostilities across the Middle East, reducing US military presence, and providing compensation.
A report published from Dubai said the main objective of the proposal is to reduce Iran–US tensions and restore regional stability.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said the proposal includes not only a ceasefire but also a call to end hostilities in regions including Lebanon. It also demands the withdrawal of US forces from areas near Iran’s borders and compensation for war-related damages.
The proposal further demands lifting US sanctions, unfreezing Iranian assets abroad, and easing economic restrictions.
However, US President Donald Trump has reportedly described the proposal as “unacceptable” or “ineffective.” He had previously rejected earlier Iranian proposals.
Trump said there may be a “good opportunity” for negotiations to limit Iran’s nuclear program but also warned of possible military action if necessary.
Analysts say countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have urged the United States to avoid military action to stabilize the region.
The status of the Hormuz Strait, a crucial global energy route, remains central to discussions.
Sources say Iran may show some flexibility on maintaining peaceful nuclear activities, but remains firm on full sanctions relief.
The United States has not officially confirmed any agreement or concession.
The report also notes that ongoing conflicts involving Iran-backed groups have created a major humanitarian crisis in Lebanon and surrounding regions, with drone strikes and counterattacks worsening the situation.
Experts believe that if implemented, the proposal could reduce long-term tensions in the Middle East, although significant gaps remain between both sides.
