Interactive Apps Now Available on ChatGPT with New MCP Technology

ChatGPT will now allow users to access various apps directly—OpenAI has announced. Starting Monday, users can use interactive apps from companies like Booking.com, Expedia, Spotify, Canva, Zillow, Figma, and Coursera within ChatGPT itself.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that this initiative will make learning, work, and creativity easier and more personalized. With the new app system, users can manage travel bookings, study, design, or listen to music—all in one place.

This feature has been built using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) technology, which allows developers to integrate their own data and functions into ChatGPT. OpenAI also plans to add more popular apps in the future, such as DoorDash, Uber, and Instacart.

OpenAI emphasized that user privacy will be protected and strict limited-data collection policies will be followed.
