Amid ongoing conflict in Gaza, various international aid organizations have issued urgent warnings that without an immediate ceasefire, the region will face an “irreversible humanitarian disaster.” Early Monday, at least 21 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza, including nine individuals awaiting humanitarian aid.
According to Gaza authorities, while Israel has partially eased its blockade since July 27, only an average of 84 aid trucks are entering Gaza daily. However, aid agencies estimate that at least 600 trucks per day are necessary to meet the basic needs of the local population. Currently, over 22,000 aid trucks are waiting outside Gaza.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoners Protection Center reported that Israeli authorities have detained at least 24 medical professionals from Gaza under harsh conditions. Since the war began in October 2023, over 400 healthcare workers from Gaza have been detained by Israeli forces, most of whom were later released without charges.
Human rights organizations have documented that detained medical workers have suffered inhumane treatment and abuse while in Israeli custody.
Amid growing global concern, human rights activists continue to call for an immediate ceasefire and full-scale humanitarian access to Gaza.
