Gold prices in Bangladesh reach record high, rise by BDT 3,137 per tola

Gold prices in the country increased once again within a single day. On Tuesday, September 9, the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Samity (BAJUS) reported that the price of gold rose by BDT 3,137 per tola. The new rates will be effective from Wednesday, September 10.

At the new price, the highest quality 22-carat gold costs BDT 185,947 per tola, marking an all-time high in the country. On the day of the announcement, gold was being sold at BDT 182,810 per tola.

According to BAJUS, the new prices were set after considering the overall market situation and the increase in local pure gold prices. Under the new rates:

  1. 21-carat gold: BDT 177,503 per tola

  2. 18-carat gold: BDT 152,145 per tola

  3. Traditional method gold: BDT 126,146 per tola

Despite the rise in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged in the domestic market:

  1. 22-carat silver: BDT 2,811 per tola

  2. 21-carat silver: BDT 2,683 per tola

  3. 18-carat silver: BDT 2,298 per tola

Traditional method silver: BDT 1,726 per tola
