Bangladesh’s foreign currency reserves rise to $30.65 billion

The country’s foreign currency reserves have reached $30.65 billion, Bangladesh Bank’s Executive Director and spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan confirmed on Tuesday, September 9.

According to the central bank’s latest data, the gross reserves of the country stood at $30.65 billion as of September 9. However, under the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) BPM6 accounting framework, the reserves amount to $25.75 billion.

Previously, as of September 7, the gross reserves were $30.307 billion, and according to IMF accounting, $25.397 billion.

It is worth noting that net reserves are calculated following the IMF’s BPM6 method. The net reserves are determined by subtracting short-term liabilities from the total reserves.
