The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025–26 auction will take place tomorrow (November 30), and a day prior, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has made major changes to the player list.
Due to fixing suspicions, BCB has removed two experienced national team cricketers, Enamul Haque Bijoy and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, from the final auction list.
Earlier, BCB stated that players under investigation for fixing or unethical behavior in the previous season would not be included in the final auction list. As part of this strict stance, Bijoy and Saikat have been excluded.
In addition, seven more players have been removed from the list, including: Ariful Haque, Nihaduzzaman, Thisara Perera, Shafiul Islam, Al Amin Hossain Sr., Alauddin Babu, and Shubham Ranjane (USA).
Meanwhile, spinner Alis Al Islam has been newly included in the updated list. His name in the first list had generated controversy, but he now secures a spot in the ‘C’ category as a leg spinner.
Notably, in the last BPL season, Enamul Haque Bijoy played for Rajshahi Kings, while Mosaddek Hossain Saikat represented Dhaka Capitals.
This move by BCB has certainly sparked discussion and excitement among players and fans on the eve of the auction.
