Elon Musk’s satellite internet service Starlink became operational again on Monday morning after experiencing a brief service disruption a few hours earlier. According to tracking website Downdetector, the number of users reporting issues in the United States has fallen below 1,000, down from a peak of over 43,000.
Starlink’s website had reported the outage in the morning but did not provide detailed information. Robert Brovdi, a Ukrainian drone commander, stated that the outage affected operations along the frontline fighting Russia, starting at 7:28 a.m. local time. About half an hour later, the service gradually resumed.
Starlink is extremely important in Ukraine for battlefield communications and certain drone operations. More than 50,000 Starlink terminals are in use in the country. The satellite network, operated by Musk’s SpaceX, is widely used to provide internet services in remote areas and conflict zones.
