Dr. Marwan Sultan, director of the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health in Hamas-run Gaza. The ministry confirmed that Dr. Marwan was killed at his home in Gaza City, along with several members of his family during the attack.
The Gaza Health Ministry described Dr. Marwan as a dedicated and compassionate physician who had long served the people of Gaza with commitment and empathy. The ministry strongly condemned the strike, calling it a “heinous crime” against Palestinian medical professionals.
On the other hand, the Israeli military stated that the airstrike targeted a “high-value Hamas operative” in Gaza City. They acknowledged that civilian casualties not linked to Hamas may have occurred and said the matter is under review.
Meanwhile, reports from multiple news agencies confirmed that another Israeli strike in the so-called “safe zone” of Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis killed at least five people and left several others injured.
These incidents mark yet another escalation in the ongoing conflict, drawing renewed international concern over civilian safety and attacks on medical infrastructure.
