Students of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute on Tuesday, September 16, held a press conference to protest the three-point demands put forward by BSc degree holders and to call for the full implementation of the six-point demands for the technical education system. Following the press conference, they staged a protest at Satrasta Mor.
During the press briefing, the protesters stated that the three-point demands raised by BSc students were unreasonable, undermining the technical education system and restricting engineering job opportunities. To oppose such “blueprint” demands, students took to the streets.
To achieve full implementation of the six-point demands, students from all polytechnic institutes will conduct sit-in demonstrations at key points in their respective districts.
During the protest, the students chanted slogans and urged the administration to immediately meet their demands. The demonstration also temporarily disrupted traffic, causing congestion in the area.
