Consumers in Dhaka have seen some relief in essential commodity prices as the prices of eggs, vegetables, and local onions have declined over the past week.

However, prices of green chilies and local garlic have increased due to rain-induced supply disruptions.

Vegetable supply remains strong, helping stabilize prices in major markets such as Kawran Bazar, New Market, and Turag New Market.

Prices include:

  • Pointed gourd (potol): 40 BDT/kg
  • Sponge gourd (jhinga): 40–50 BDT/kg
  • Okra: 30–40 BDT/kg
  • Bitter gourd: 50–60 BDT/kg
  • Eggplant: 70–110 BDT/kg
  • Green chili: 100–120 BDT/kg

Egg prices have dropped by around 10 BDT per dozen.

Meat and fish prices remain mostly stable, though hilsa remains expensive.
