The results of the undergraduate admission tests for the 2024-25 academic year at the proposed Dhaka Central University were published on Tuesday, August 26. This information was shared through a notice signed by the university’s administrator and Dhaka College principal, Professor A. K. M. Elias. Candidates can view their results on the official website: https://dcuadmission.org.
The notice stated that if any discrepancies or errors are found in the published results, the university authority reserves the right to correct them or cancel the results entirely. The subject choice and college selection process will begin on September 15.
A total of 72,000 students applied for 11,150 seats across three units in the admission test. The exams for the Arts & Social Sciences Unit were held on August 22, while the Science Unit and Business Studies Unit exams took place on August 23.
Exam Structure and Passing Marks:
All three units had a 100-mark MCQ-based test.
Arts & Social Sciences Unit included questions in Bengali, English, and General Knowledge. A penalty of 0.25 marks was applied for each wrong answer. The passing mark was 40, with a minimum of 10 marks required in both Bengali and English.
Science Unit questions covered Physics, Chemistry, and two other HSC syllabus subjects, 25 marks each, totaling 100 marks. Students must score at least 40 marks overall to qualify.
Business Studies Unit also had a one-hour MCQ test of 100 marks.
Merit List and Admission Process:
The merit list for successful candidates will be based on a total of 120 marks: 10 from SSC, 10 from HSC, and 100 from the admission test. College and subject preferences must be submitted online. Subject allocation will take place on October 20, admission completion by October 25, and classes will begin on October 30.
