In support of ongoing initiatives to save electricity and fuel, the Bangladesh Shop Owners’ Association has announced that shops, shopping malls, and commercial centers nationwide, including Dhaka, will now close by 8 pm.
This decision, announced on Thursday (April 2), aims to assist the government’s efforts to reduce electricity consumption amid the international fuel situation.
According to the association, some service-oriented establishments such as hotels, restaurants, pharmacies, and essential markets will remain open. The measure is expected to positively impact electricity savings and help manage the national crisis. Shop owners have urged public cooperation in implementing this initiative.
