New LPG prices effective from April; autogas prices also increased

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised consumer-level prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). According to the new decision, the price of a 12-kg cylinder has increased from BDT 1,341 to BDT 1,728. Consumers will now have to pay an additional BDT 387 per cylinder in April.

At a press conference on Thursday (April 2) at the BERC office, Chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the new prices, effective from 6 pm the same day.

Prices for various cylinder sizes have also been adjusted. A 5.5-kg cylinder is now BDT 792, 12.5 kg at BDT 1,801, 15 kg at BDT 2,161, and 16 kg at BDT 2,305.

Other prices include: 18 kg at BDT 2,593; 20 kg at BDT 2,881; 22 kg at BDT 3,169; 25 kg at BDT 3,601; 30 kg at BDT 4,321; 33 kg at BDT 4,753; 35 kg at BDT 5,041; and 45 kg at BDT 6,428.

Autogas prices have also been revised, with consumer-level prices now set at BDT 79.77 per liter including VAT.

Energy analysts stated that the adjustment in LPG prices is directly influenced by fluctuations in the international market, impacting consumer costs.
