People from all walks of life, including BNP leaders and activists, are visiting Zia Udyan to offer prayers and pay respects at the grave of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. From Thursday afternoon, visitors have been entering to lay flowers and participate in prayers.
The main entrance was opened after 12 PM, although crowds had gathered since 11 AM. Police allowed entry to maintain security.
Visitors from across the country, including many not affiliated with BNP, paid their respects. Fathima Sharmin from Munshiganj said she came out of personal respect for Khaleda Zia. Leaders from various districts, including Panchagarh and local BNP officials, also visited.
Khaleda Zia passed away on Tuesday while under treatment at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka. Her funeral was held on Wednesday with state honors, and she was buried at Zia Udyan next to her husband, the late President Ziaur Rahman. People from all political affiliations attended her funeral.
