Hundreds of people have lined up outside Apple’s flagship store in Beijing, China, for the launch of the iPhone 17 series. The Pro Max model has generated particularly strong interest among Chinese consumers.
The new series features updated designs, a bright and scratch-resistant display, and an improved front camera for enhanced selfies and better battery life. Analysts believe that the iPhone 17 series could significantly boost Apple’s market share and shipments in China by the end of the year.
Apple expects an 11% increase in iPhone shipments in China for 2025, which could contribute to an overall 5% growth for the year. Experts predict that the Pro Max model will surpass the iPhone 16 Pro Max as the top model in China.
The iPhone Air model will receive eSIM support in China for the first time, though it is still awaiting approval for sale. This model is designed to test a thinner and lighter build, which could be applied to foldable iPhones in the future.
Since Chinese consumers value battery life, camera quality, and audio performance, sales from the Air model are expected to be limited. However, the launch of the new series is anticipated to generate a positive response in Apple’s market presence.
