After dropping points against Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona went into the international break motivated, and the setback seems to have strengthened the team. The current La Liga champions played against Valencia at their temporary home and achieved a resounding 6-0 victory.

Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Fermin Lopez each scored two goals. Notably, both Raphinha and Lewandowski scored two goals each as substitutes, marking the first time in La Liga history that two substitute players from the same team scored twice in a single match.

Since the new Camp Nou has not yet been approved for opening, Barcelona had to play at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, which has a capacity of 6,000 spectators. Despite the smaller venue, Barcelona’s performance was unaffected, especially in the second half, where the team displayed exceptional football.

With this win, Barcelona moved up to second place, just two points behind Real Madrid, who lead the table. After four matches, Real Madrid has 12 points, while Barcelona has 10 points.

Although Barcelona dominated the first half, they struggled to convert chances until Fermin Lopez scored in the 29th minute to give Barca the lead. In the second half, substitute Raphinha scored first, followed by Lopez’s long-range goal three minutes later. Raphinha then scored his second goal, and Lewandowski added two more goals toward the end, extending the margin to six.

Barcelona’s coach Hans Flick said after the match, “From the start, we knew what we wanted to do and executed it. The team performed brilliantly in every position. Choosing between Ferran Torres and Lewandowski was a delightful dilemma for me.”
