Although the Bangladesh national football team, led by Jamal Bhuiyan, was scheduled to return home after their Nepal tour, they remain stranded at their hotel in Kathmandu due to the tense situation in the city. A flight was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon to Dhaka, but protests on the roads and security risks prevented the team from reaching the airport.

According to team sources, the squad checked out of the hotel around noon, but at the last moment, authorities did not permit them to leave. As a result, players and coaching staff are still waiting in the hotel lobby with their luggage.

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) stated that they are in constant contact with the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), local authorities, and the Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure the team’s safety.

Earlier, today’s friendly match was also canceled. The only question now is whether Jamal and his team will be able to return home today, or if they will have to remain confined to the hotel for another day due to the situation.

Although the unrest in Kathmandu has caused concern among football fans, the reassurances from BFF have offered some relief to supporters.
