Iran’s National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani has arrived in Oman. According to Iranian state media, this visit follows recent discussions between Tehran and Washington on Iran’s nuclear program.

Larijani, a close advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, will meet Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. Reports indicate discussions will cover regional and international issues and strengthening bilateral relations.

Analysts suggest the visit signals diplomatic progress following recent nuclear dialogues in Oman, aimed at preventing potential conflict, especially amid rising US military presence in the Middle East.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Larijani’s visit is part of regional consultations and aims to strengthen relations with neighboring countries. He added that the US must make decisions free of Israeli influence. Baghaei claimed Israel unnecessarily portrays Iran’s nuclear program as a crisis, destabilizing the region.

Iran stated that while it is committed to diplomacy, it will proceed cautiously considering past experiences. Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization head Mohammad Eslami indicated that if US sanctions are lifted, Iran may consider reducing enriched uranium levels, though Tehran has made clear that enrichment is its right and will not stop unconditionally.

After Oman, Larijani is scheduled to visit Qatar. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is traveling to the US to discuss Iran, reflecting heightened diplomatic activity in the Middle East.
