A larger diesel-carrying vessel imported from Malaysia has reached Bangladesh's coast. The ship named Shan Gang Fa Jian anchored late Friday night in the Kutubdia Channel area of the Bay of Bengal, carrying more than 34,000 tons of diesel.
Sources confirmed that the ship is under the Chinese flag and has directly transported fuel from Malaysia. The ship is scheduled to berth at Chattogram Port on Saturday.
Earlier on the same day, another ship named Yan Jing He from Singapore docked at the Padma Oil Dolphin Jetty of the port, carrying approximately 27,300 tons of diesel. These shipments are being brought continuously to maintain normal fuel supply.
Local shipping agent Pride Shipping Lines confirmed the matter. An official of the company stated that the newly arrived ship has already reached the coast and will be brought to the port for unloading following the designated procedures.
Experts say that such import activities are being maintained to ensure the country’s supply remains stable amid the volatile global fuel situation.
