Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said at a press conference in Tehran on Sunday, “The current US administration repeatedly made maximum demands, leaving no room for negotiations.” He added, “There is no sign that the US is prepared for equal and fair talks to protect fundamental interests.”
Araghchi noted that neighboring countries are sending messages to mediate with Iran and maintain peace. He also delivered a letter to Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani regarding discussions on Iran, the Gaza ceasefire, and other issues.
Iranian officials maintain open communication channels with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The foreign minister stated, “Currently, no enrichment activities are underway due to attacks on our enrichment facilities. But our message is clear: the peaceful use of nuclear power, including enrichment, is Iran’s fundamental right, and we will continue it.”
Last week, a leaked IAEA report revealed that the agency could not verify Iran’s stock of 60% enriched uranium due to damage caused by US and Israeli attacks in June.
Given these circumstances, the resumption of nuclear talks between Iran and the international community remains uncertain.
