Tarique Rahman Sworn In, New Full Cabinet Formed

Tarique Rahman was sworn in today (Tuesday, February 17) as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh. At 3:55 pm at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building, President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office to Tarique Rahman as Prime Minister. Present at the ceremony were his spouse Dr. Zubaida Rahman and their only daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman.

Alongside the Prime Minister, 24 members of the new full cabinet were also sworn in. The full ministers include Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, AZM Zahid Hossain, Khalilur Rahman (technocrat), Abdul Awal Mintoo, Shah Moazzem Hossain Kaikobad, Mizanur Rahman Minu, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Zahir Uddin Swapan, Aminur Rashid (technocrat), Afroza Khanam Rita, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Asadul Habib Dulu, Md. Asaduzzaman, Zakaria Taher Suman, Dipen Dewan, A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon, Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain Bakul and Fakir Mahbub Anam.

In addition, 24 state ministers were sworn in, including M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Anindya Islam Amit, Shariful Alam, Shama Obaed Islam, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Farhad Hossain Azad, Md. Aminul Haque (technocrat), Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Habibur Rashid Habib, Rajib Ahsan, Md. Abdul Bari, Mir Shahe Alam, Md. Jonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, Ishraque Hossain, Farzana Sharmin Putul, Sheikh Faridul Islam, Nurul Haque Nur, Yaser Khan Chowdhury, M Iqbal Hossain, M A Muhith, Ahmed Sohel Manzur and Bobby Hajjaj.

Political analysts believe that the new full cabinet will play an important role in maintaining administrative stability and implementing various development projects. After the oath-taking ceremony, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a brief meeting with cabinet members to discuss key policies and priority issues.

The new government aims to quickly initiate development activities, ensure economic stability, and guarantee public services. Political observers say the oath ceremony has conveyed a message of transparency and accountability in government operations.
