One of the most terrifying scenes in the first two episodes is Demogorgon’s attack on Holly Wheeler. Little Holly (Nell Fisher) is taken from her home while her parents are beaten. Her mother Karen Wheeler (Cara Buono) fights back, creating a mix of fear and excitement for viewers.
Holly’s Mr. Whatsit identity revelation is another major plot point. With her new friend and mother’s help, Mike and Nancy discover that Mr. Whatsit is actually the main antagonist Henry Creel/Vexna (Jamie Campbell Bower).
Key performers include Erica Sinclair (Priah Ferguson) and new character Derek Turnbow (Jake Connelly). Erica sets a strategic trap using a banjo-mix pie for the Demogorgon, offering a fun and daring moment. Derek becomes an essential part of Hawkins’ heroes in Episode 4.
Holly’s “Tiffany sidestep” scene is a joyful moment, enjoying music, baking chocolate cake, and dressing up, though fear quickly follows.
Episode 4, titled Sorcerer, shows Will (Noah Schnapp) partially gaining Vexna-like powers during an attack, including eye changes and nosebleeds, generating excitement among viewers.
Volume 1 ends on cliffhangers, increasing anticipation for Volume 2, expected during Christmas.
