Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of BNP’s standing committee, stated that if the upcoming election is controversial, it will steer the country’s future into uncertainty. He made these remarks on Saturday (16 August) at a prayer and discussion event organized by the BNP’s youth wing at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan, marking the birthday of Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Salahuddin Ahmed said, “Those who try to delay the election by raising various issues are not the strength of democracy. BNP is progressing on the path of democracy through dialogue and consultation under the guidance of Begum Khaleda Zia. Anti-fascist forces must unite nationally to build a democratic state.”
He further added, “Those attempting to delay the election will face opposition from the people. Those who raise different arguments to obstruct the journey of democracy are not forces supporting democracy.”
Salahuddin’s remarks once again highlighted the importance of ensuring transparency in the country’s election process within the current political context.
