Local authorities in Ukraine have reported at least one death and 18 injuries following a massive Russian drone and missile attack. This marked Moscow’s largest assault in recent weeks, occurring amid ongoing diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire.

The Ukrainian Air Force stated that overnight Wednesday, Russian forces launched 574 drones and 40 missiles. While most were intercepted, some strikes hit various areas, causing casualties and widespread damage.

In the western city of Lviv, one person was killed and three others injured in a drone and missile attack. Regional Governor Maksym Kozytskyi reported that 26 residential buildings were damaged.

In the border-adjacent city of Mukachevo, near Hungary and Slovakia, 15 more people were injured, and a warehouse of a U.S. electronics factory was destroyed. Local Governor Myroslav Biletskyi said the factory produced consumer electronics. Television footage showed smoke rising from the building following the attack.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized that the factory was entirely civilian, with no connection to the military or defense forces.

President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks, stating that Moscow is not pursuing a path toward compromise but targeting civilians. He called on the international community to impose stricter sanctions and tariffs against Russia.

Zelensky added, “Russia launched multiple cruise missiles at a U.S. business. This was a facility producing ordinary consumer goods, yet it was targeted—showing the indiscriminate nature of their attacks.”

Additionally, drone and missile strikes were carried out in the northwestern city of Lutsk, although no casualties were reported from there.
