On Thursday morning (April 2) around 8:30 AM, a wall of a hotel collapsed in Debidwar, Comilla, killing 65-year-old Abdus Samad.
According to local police and eyewitnesses, the wall of a hotel owned by Mizanur Rahman in Bagur Bazar, near the Chandina–Debidwar boundary, suddenly collapsed. Abdus Samad, sitting at the cash counter, was trapped under the wall and died on the spot.
Locals recovered the body and sent it to Shaktola village, Debidwar. Fire service and police inspected the site afterward.
Debidwar police station OC Md. Moniruzzaman stated, “Abdus Samad died due to the sudden wall collapse. As there was no foul play, the body was handed over to the family.”
An investigation has been initiated, and local authorities are advising measures to strengthen safety in the future.
