PNN News Desk | Dhaka:

Professor Niyaz Ahmed Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, has asserted that there is no lack of transparency at the university’s centers during the DUCSU election. While inspecting three polling centers around 3:00 PM, he told reporters, “Over 70 percent of votes have already been cast at various centers. Those in line after 4:00 PM will also be allowed to vote.”

The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that a minor error occurred at the Karzon Hall center, where one voter was given two ballots. The polling officer was immediately withdrawn and necessary measures were taken. Additionally, an issue at the TSC center regarding a ballot with a ‘cross mark’ was resolved on the spot.

He further added, “We hope everyone will accept the election results and acknowledge that there has been no lack of transparency anywhere.”

Earlier, Professor Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of Dhaka University, stated that students are able to vote in a joyful environment and that polling is ongoing. She expressed hope that a significant number of votes will be cast in the election.
