With the new year, popular OTT platforms in Bangladesh are preparing to deliver a wide variety of content. Series, films, and game shows—viewers will see new stories, directors, and large-scale productions on Chorki, Hoichoi, Icecream, and BongBD in 2026.
Redwan Rony, CEO of Chorki, said the platform’s content strategy for the upcoming year has been expanded and diversified. Multiple high-budget series with top local artists and directors are in production. A significant series directed by Shihab Shahin promises novelty in story and production. Shankha Dashgupta’s story will explore human dreams, conflicts, and emotions. Arafat Mohsin Nidhi is directing a series for the first time, focusing on family relationships. Another story featuring Pranikul adds a unique narrative to Chorki’s lineup.
Chorki is also paying attention to theatrical releases. Films like ‘Dom’ starring Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Puja Cherry will be released in theaters, with Chorki streaming them afterward.
Hoichoi’s schedule is also busy, with new projects from multiple directors alongside veteran creators. ‘Bonolota Express,’ a film, will be released in theaters for the first time, marking a milestone for the platform. The popular series ‘Gholam Mamun’ may also continue this year.
Icecream has not yet revealed details of upcoming series but confirmed one film, ‘Pressure Cooker,’ directed by Raihan Rafi, starring Shabnam Bubly and Nazifa Tushi. New series and web films are also planned.
BongBD will continue its popular series ‘Bachelor Point’ alongside the game show ‘Family Feud Bangladesh’ Season 2, expanding the scale of the program. Mezbaur Rahman Sumon’s film ‘Roid’ will be released on BongBD. Other series and web films are in discussion, with details yet to be revealed.
Overall, competition in Bangladesh’s OTT sector is intensifying, offering viewers a rich variety of stories, entertainment, and new experiences.
