At the beginning of the new year, an important announcement is expected for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) users. On Sunday (January 4), the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) will determine new LPG prices for one month. A press conference will be held at 3 pm to announce the decision.

According to BERC, the adjustment will consider the contract price declared by Saudi Aramco and align private-sector LPG prices accordingly. Prices are revised monthly based on international market trends.

The last LPG price adjustment occurred on December 2, when the price of a 12 kg cylinder increased by 38 Taka to 1,253 Taka. Autogas prices were also raised at the same time.

During the Sunday announcement, the new autogas price for vehicles will also be disclosed. Currently, including VAT, the retail price of autogas is 57.32 Taka per liter, which had previously increased by 1.74 Taka per liter.

LPG is a vital fuel for daily life, and consumers closely monitor price adjustments. BERC also monitors excessive pricing beyond the regulated rates. The new prices will reflect global market conditions and Saudi CP rates and will remain effective for one month.
