On Friday (September 12), after visiting the ancestral home of Muslim Renaissance poet Farrukh Ahmed in Sripur, Magura, Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, told reporters that despite differences among political parties, the national election will be held by February 15 next year.

He said, “Differences of opinion are natural among political parties; otherwise, why would different parties exist? However, we reiterate that the election will take place by February 15.”

Shafiqul Alam added, “There is no possibility of delaying the election. It will be held in the first half of February. This is a clear commitment of our interim government. Anyone who thinks that attempts will be made to disrupt the election is mistaken.”

He also emphasized, “This election is extremely important for Bangladesh. The Chief Adviser has stated that it will be a ‘foundational election,’ which will guide future elections and advance the country’s political environment. Therefore, arrangements for the election will be ensured in the first half of February.”
